Valencia CF legend, main guest of L'Informatiu on VCF Radio
Former Valencia CF player, Claudio 'Piojo López', has been the protagonist in L'Informatiu of VCF Radio to talk about the friendly match that will face the Valencianista team against CF Benidorm next Tuesday, 28th May at 7 pm kick-off day at the Estadio Municipal Guillermo Amor (Benidorm).
Return to the Ciutat Esportiva de Paterna
"It always stirs the heart a lot more when we are here nearby".
CF Benidorm-Valencia CF
"We are waiting for them with a lot of anticipation, a lot of desire. It's a double celebration. First of all, because Valencia CF are kind enough to play a friendly match with us we also take the opportunity to celebrate the Cup and the promotion to Tercera RFEF. We are very pleased and happy.
Season 23-24
"I have seen Valencia CF doing very well. The expectations, seeing how the season has gone compared to the previous season are super good. They have done an impeccable job. Baraja has been able to find the right way to turn the team around, how to make it work, how to make it compete and they have shown their face in LALIGA in a very good way. You have to leave with a good taste in your mouth because the team were there on the doorstep of being able to get back into Europe and that is praiseworthy".
Baraja
"I came from a very difficult season in which there were more bitter tastes than sweet ones and suddenly you start the season and how the beginning of the campaign went, not in terms of the games, but how the market went and the team to start LALIGA, suddenly drifted into a comfortable zone in terms of what it was last year.
They drifted into the top half of the table, there was a resounding change. With not so many changes in the squad, you can see the work and the hand of Baraja to get the most out of the players".
Youth
"He also found that all the players you are talking about had to establish themselves within a structure in a LIGA that is very competitive. They have solved it very well, Baraja has done an exceptional job to be able to find a way to get that performance out of them and the boys have responded. It's doubly commendable".
Academy graduates
"Mosquera, the first time I saw him play for VCF Mestalla I was already delighted with him and it's good that he got the chance and it's good that he responded in the best way possible. At the same level, last year, it was the turn of Javi Guerra, Diego López and what one would have expected them to feel the change of tier, of pressure, of what it meant to start as a starter and a season at Valencia CF... we could have said that yes it was different, but that it was a different experience," he said.
Pepelu
"It was a great move. He has also done his part to be able to respond in that aspect and the difference was not so noticeable, he knew how to maintain the level, accompany and, above all, he has been very cautious. I see him as a player who knows what steps he is taking and where he is going. I'm glad he's at this level"
Gayà's injury
"It's hard, it's difficult. I need a lot of support and to know that these things in football, unfortunately, happen, they are there and we can't deviate much more. In any case, he's going to get over it and he's going to be fine and, for sure, he's going to have more opportunities. Now, we have to wish him the best".
Claudio Ranieri
"He laid a foundation for players who gave the Club a very high performance and who put the Club back in European competitions and the name of Valencia CF in a very high European football environment, which, thank God, we were able to maintain. I wish him all the best for whatever comes his way and I hope we can meet again".
